Gay, gay, gay... everywhere!
I am not so sure if I am supposed to be frustrated, to laugh or to just start crying.
1) The pope (yes, the lower case is on purpose) has a not very new one: Just when finally, justice is slowly taking place in this world, when more and more people are realizing themselves that Homosexuality is natural, personal and older than the roman church, he (mr. pope) strikes, yet again.
He was quoted in a note at my favorite news site 365gay.com, calling Gay Marriage "a new ideology of evil" and calling it also "insidious".
I understand the bitter old man felling that way, I can't imaging him being happy about ANY sexual being, when he probably never understood his own sexuality. What appearrs funny to me, is having this kind of "feedback" from and unmarried and and maybe celibate by chioce (creepy, ha?!)man.
2) What really appears sad to me, is to look a few years back into my own life, me, a former seminarian, a former very devoted roman catholic, that even cheered up Mr. Karol Joseph Wojtyla (aka John Paul II)... shame on me.
3) But please, don't get me wrong, I am not anti Christian at all, I am myself a Christian!!! and after all this years of trying to find truth, I finally decided that I needed to separate from the forces of evil, that for me, are in reality, the reactionaries, the so call "conservatives" (term that I refuse to use to describe that sort of beings, because I am convinced that all they want is to destroy, no to "conserve" anything) confusing people with their twisted messages, and distorting the real message of Jesus, the true God, promoting hate, discrimination, pain and destruction in the name of faith... in the name of God!
These are for me signs of the times. I can not follow anymore a force that is eviden evil, a force that has brought sadness and destruction anywhere it goes. In the name of the church (and using the name of God, which is indeed blasphemy) Slavery, colonization, murder (The Spanish inquisition) and destruction (any kind of "holy" war) took place. And that destruction is taking place now in the form of hate against Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender people.
Why are we, human kind still hardening our hearts? Why are we still promoting the institution of a world that corrupts the natural order by denying the true divine origyn of sexuality, that is a gift of God... WHy the need to spread hate in the name of a love that I am sure many of the reactionaries don't even know?
God, protect us from those who claim following you, and in stead of fighting for justice, love and equallity, are finding "deviant vehavior" (???) in cartoons and inocent people.

Bears
Just to offer some sugestions for people interested to read about gay subcultures:
Bears on Bears
By Ron Jackson Suresha
alyson books
First edition, February 2002
Is the transcription of a series of interviews conducted by the author, with pretty prominent openly gay intelectuals and personalities.
One thing I love about this book is the fact that the reader is challenged to make interpretations and conclusions from this unbiased colection of interviews.
It is important for gay man and non gay men alike to learn about all the gay subcultures, or the lack of them... this way, we can open our minds a little bit in terms of the diversity not only of mentalities, but points of view in the gay community.
I am reffering to gay male only, because I will not adventure to make opinions about Lesbians, bisexuals or transgender people, since I am not any of the mentioned three.
If you are looking for something to read, this is both, interesting and entretaining (aside from being intellectually stimulating, something that is endangered in our western societies, because of religios fundamentalism and TV)
